The other day, my wife, son and I were sitting by the fire, and suddenly Jamie, my son saw one of our chickens out in the yard with what turns out to be , of all things, a 00 Mepps vintage lure hooked next to her tear gland right by the edge of her eye with one of the 3 barbed hooks. The second one was hooked into her wattle. The remaining hook was free. We covered her up and held firm as i first tried to get it out . Cutting the hook ended up working and least hurting. As a fisherman i try not to lose my terminal tackle, but this one too got away. It does prove that birds will eat them. Thanks god all is well. Thus the lure on my hat brim.

Hardy Zenith 10' 3wt Fly Rod
Flies
and Stuff Reviews the 10' 3wt Zenith Fly Rod
"The Hardy Zenith 10' 3wt- sublime!
I finally got it on the water and it is a remarkable rod!"
"The Hardy Zenith 10' 3wt- sublime!
I finally got it on the water and it is a remarkable rod!"
Last year I fished the Zenith 9' 4wt in Poland (see the post) and I was
very impressed. I was fishing with Jeremy Lucas and he and I are both fans of
longer rods for superlative dry and subsurface presentation and connectivity:
But I've always been a little disappointed by the tip heavy feeling I get when
fishing 10 and 11' rods. I told Jeremy how I thought a 10' 3wt Zenith could
solve that problem...
