Vises

There are lots of vises out there on the market today.  Roughly 30 years ago when I became interested in fly fishing, coming from a spin fisherman, I had a huge interest in all the fly fishing products, for I had little knowledge of this sport.  I spent countless hours in my favorite local fly shops gathering information, buying gear and flies.  I also read lots of magazines to keep up on fishing techniques, places, gear, etc.

Younger as a kid,  I had to take everything apart to see how it was either made or how it worked on the inside. This along with working in the home building industry for 30 years, being around tools, expanded my understanding further how best to use tools and how they are designed to work the intended way.  Many learning experiences, touching, trying different products help me realize the best products for specific use. What I have concluded is that some manufactures make at least one product that is really good.  Some times a product is the cream of the crop. That's what Norm Norlander did.  In my opinion this the the winner.  I have tied on the Nor-Vise for around 8 years and have found it to be great for all the types of flies I tie.  In every situation I can do it better with this vise.  There is another half to this vise, that's the bobbin.  This bobbin will change our mind altogether no matter what vise you use period! The learning curve for this system is short.  

It shouldn't take long to realize the benefits of this vise and bobbin set up. Norm has all kinds of videos if needed. 

Bottom line; this vise SPINS.  Yea its rotary like so many others, BUT IT SPINS.  In a short time you will realize that every thing you wrap on can be spun on faster and still be accurate.

Last but least, the bobbin will save so much time, because THAT RE-WINDING YOU DO OVER AND OVER WILL STOP FOREVER.
The cost of this vise @ $295.00 is less that other big industry named companies and their vises only ROTATE.
